Disability Independent Living Care

Independent Living Care is for those who are striving to live a mostly or completely self-managed, healthy, independent life, but may need a little bit of extra care or support from time to time, especially by developing more practical skills associated with self-managed care to reduce their functional reliance on professional support.

For older individuals and those with a disability, injury, or illness, there is often a strong desire to live a life without depending on others all the time to perform daily activities. Reducing reliance on others while also recognising that sometimes a little bit of extra support can make a big difference is where Independent Living Care comes in.

This process (and thus the nature of the care) is totally unique and ultimately dependent on how the individual envisions an independent lifestyle. It can involve developing skills to manage the household, learning to use computers and paying bills, help with fixing broken things around the home to maintain one’s independence, occasional help with mobility and getting around, understanding how to administer basic self-care, as well as getting help with a series of difficult tasks.

We understand the importance of independent living for those who want to work toward self-reliance and develop the skills to meet daily challenges. We are here to help individuals work towards those goals and build competence as well as confidence.

We have a diverse team of experienced, compassionate, and friendly professionals, ensuring you’ll find just the right fit to work with you or your loved one based on your unique goals and home situation, working through the timeline and considerations that are most important to you.
