Disability Respite Care

Respite Care provides a carer substitute where someone else temporarily steps in to take care of the individual, typically for a short-term period ranging from several hours to a couple of days.

Respite Care may be planned or unplanned. In instances where it is planned, the primary carer may need to attend a scheduled appointment, funeral, or wedding.

In instances where it is unplanned, the primary carer may have a health issue or temporarily need to take care of an urgent personal matter.

In either case, the primary carer is unavailable to perform their normal caring duties and a temporary carer substitute needs to be arranged.

Everybody needs time off. In many cases, Respite Care can simply help the primary carer to take a break to recharge and look after their own health and well-being for a while.
